Feb 09, 2024

STRONG — Nathan Weaver, 41, of Mount Carmel, and Irvin Koons, 62, of Hegins, who were injured in a July 21 head-on crash on Route 54 at the Strong Connector, remain in critical condition at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Mount Carmel Township Police Chief Brian Hollenbush reported Wednesday that Weaver was driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck west on Route 54, approximately one-half mile west of its intersection with Route 61, when he crossed over a double yellow line, causing his truck to crash head-on into a Chevrolet Silverado truck driven east on the highway by Koons.
